Sai Kung is possibly the most beautiful area in all of Hong Kong. It is home to Hong Kong’s most beautiful beaches and pristine waters. Unfortunately, long hikes over mountainous terrain make most of the area under the Sai Kung Country Park is difficult to explore. But not if you hire a junk boat!
Explore Sai Kung On A Junk Boat
On our last junk boat of 2017 we made our way to one of Sai Kung’s many nooks. A beautiful bay with pristine waters, and beaches that are inaccessible by foot.
Sai Kung is known for some of Hong Kong’s most beautiful beaches that includes Tai Long Wan, and Sharp Island. The country park area is so massive that often times it’s easier to hire a water taxi to get around. Sai Kung is also popular for many junk boat parties as the vast untouched area offers boats numerous spots to anchor.
The bay area that we anchored in (I’m not sure that it has a name), had two beautiful beaches that were inaccessible by foot. The water was calm and clear enough to dive, and swim to those private beaches.
The day also presented me with the opportunity to get some amazing footage of the area using my drone. Check out the video below.

Junk boats are definitely one of the best things about living in Hong Kong. After all, where else in the world do you get hold of a bunch of strangers, hire a boat, and take it out to the sea to party!
