For all its cultural and historical glory, Japan sure has a very crazy side to it. Some of it is just so unique to foreigners that we fail to get a grasp of it. Sure, we knew a few things that happened only in Japan before we even reached there – things like the numerous flavours of Kit-Kats and an obsession for Hello Kitty! But once we were there, we noticed a lot more weirdness.
Weird Stuff You Only See In Japan
These are some of the photos that I took with my trusted Nexus 5. Whenever I was too lazy to pull out my DSLR or the moment was fleeting, I used my camera phone to snap these photos. We saw a lot of fun things, such as:
- Sakura flavoured Red Bulls
- Sakura flavoured beer
- Sakura!
- Whiskey sold in 5 litre plastic bottles
- Omnipresent vending machines that practically sell you anything
- Exquisite architecture
- Lot’s of sakura flavoured beer
- And then some normal Indian beer
- Our traditional Japanese ryokan dinner
- Daft Punkish
- This had to be the funniest flyer! The manager looks like a complete loser.
- The Kyoto train station
- No selfie sticks. No Drones.
- Loved this building in Nagoya
- Is this Tokyo or New York?
- Hello Kitty toilet covers
- This mammoth Alienware in Tokyo
- Look at all those KitKat flavours
- Seriously, the MOST intimidating metro system in the world
- Spot Godzilla
- So then…
- Whiskey sold in giant bottles
- Tokyo drift happening outside our hotel
- We ate whale bacon
- Vending machine…everywhere!
- Seems like people have electrocuted themselves while using selfie sticks. Smart.
- Sakura (cherry blossom) flavoured Red Bull!
- Ouch…
- A coffee vending machine that had more options that a Starbucks
- A very thoughtful kettle in our hotel room
