Junk boats are really popular in Hong Kong. Head down to the Central Piers on a weekend or holiday morning to see groups, all dressed up, ready to board their junk boats with food and drinks to last a day.

Having been on a couple of junk boat parties myself, I was quite eager this time to take some amazing photos of the boat from above. Also, with a back injury all I could do was enjoy the sun.

Junk Boat Party, Destination – Clearwater Bay

Once on the junk, we decided to head down to Clearwater Bay – a popular destination for junk boat parties from Central. The last time, we’d set off from Sai Kung and headed deep into Sai Kung Country Park territory. Of course it was was more peaceful and beautiful, but going to Sai Kung from Central wasn’t a practical choice.

The day turned out to be great fun! It rained in parts but that didn’t dampen our spirits. I particularly liked the area we were dropped anchor. It was a fairly calm bay with a great view of the High Junk Peak.

Of course, I couldn’t help but admire the Clearwater Bay Golf Country Club. The remote location makes it look absolutely spectacular.
