Cyberport is more than just hub for tech companies, startups, and business schools. It is also one of the better places in Hong Kong to enjoy the sunset.
Cyberport’s location – on the south-west side of the Hong Kong Island – makes it a perfect candidate to last the last glimpses of the sun. The view from the park and the waterfront is unobstructed, save for a few outlying islands, and passing marine traffic.
The view is best enjoyed from the edge of the waterfront, preferable with a glass of wine or beer.
How To Get To Cyberport
Cyberport is easy to get to from almost anywhere on the Hong Kong Island. Coming from Causeway Bay/Wan Chai/Admiralty, it’s easy to catch the no. 10 green minibus.
You can check the best directions on Google Maps, depending on your location.
Things To Do In Cyberport
Other than catching the sunset in Cyberport, there are a couple of nice restaurants in the neighbourhood, and also a cinema.
My favourite restaurant in Cyberport is Kam Kee Dining Room. Good value for money, and good food.
There’s also Broadway Cinema right next to the restaurant. Whenever we’ve gone to see a movie there, we’ve easily managed to get tickets at the last moment. So, it’s perfect if you haven’t made plans in advance.

And always, there’s a McDonald’s, a Starbucks, and an International supermarket (to grab that wine) in the vicinity.
Now that I think about it, why not make a day (lunch, movie, coffee) and end it with the sunset?!

Flying Drones At Cyberport
Due to its ease of access, and open space, Cyberport has become a hot spot for drone pilots on Hong Kong Island. During my last visit to Cyberport, I was astonished at the number of drones in the sky! I had to maintain eye contact with my drone, so that I knew that no other drone was coming close to mine.
But yes, it is a great place to fly your drone. Just be mindful of air traffic!
